Radio Spots Send Open Shop Electricians
to Tampa Union Hall

 Open shop electricians in Tampa, Fla. turned on their radios in January to a dynamic pitch from the IBEW to check out the opportunities that come with union membership. The radio spots, sponsored by Tampa Local 915 on country and rock music stations, invited them to an industry night where they could interview with union employers and enjoy free food, beverages and door prizes. A survey of industry night participants established that the radio ads were highly successful in boosting turnout.
