Fish Fry Meeting

RETIREES CLUB OF L.U. 725, TERRE HAUTE, IN-Bro. Melvin Olson's residence on the banks of the Wabash River near Hutsonville, IL, was once again the site of a successful Local 725 Retirees' fish fry meeting, held every year in the late summer or early fall. In attendance were Retirees Club members James Kerr, Robert Tucker, Marion McCain, James Hill, Gerald Steele, Donald Rush, Thomas Smith, Warren Jenkins, Harry Hawkins, Everett Hammond, Ray Black, Virgil Frost, Harold Hoopengarner, Melvin Olson, Lowell Smith, Frank Mershon, Paul Christian, James Lincoln, Howard Street and Myron Hiatt. Guests included Local 725 Bus. Mgr. John Jones, Pres. John McMullen, Treas. Norman Cheesman and journeyman wireman Ed Stuck. Bro. Don Rush won the best door prize among the numerous drawings, a Local 725 watch. Our Retirees Club normally meets the first Wednesday of each month. We welcome more participation from both Local 725 retirees and retired non-725 members.

75 Club Members

RETIREES CLUB OF L.U. 824, TAMPA, FL-The Retirees Club of Local 824 was founded Aug. 23, 2001. Charter members are Larry Burns, Wendell Forsythe, Pat Van Lengen and Betty Watson. Our newly elected officers are: Pres. Robert Burd, Vice Pres. Robert Benton, Treas. Pat Van Lengen and Rec. Sec. Betty Watson. The club is affiliated with the Florida Alliance for Retired Americans. Each quarter we meet to conduct our business, see old friends, hold a raffle, and enjoy a covered-dish luncheon. Our January 2004 meeting will feature an attorney to discuss with us the health insurance we have with Verizon and the prices involved. We have 75 Retirees Club members at present.

RETIREES CLUB OF L.U. 1191, WEST PALM BEACH, FL-Our newly formed Retirees Club has been named "The Youngbloods." Skip Herbert is the acting president. Our E- Board contact is Rick Borman at (561) 689-2074. We now have a link just for the Youngbloods on the Local 1191 web site www.ibewlu1191.org. Visit the web site and you can submit articles or pictures to be posted on the Youngbloods' page. A weekly informal breakfast for retirees is held at the Gun Club Road Caf, 4616 Gun Club Rd., West Palm Beach, FL 33415-Phone (561) 471-0879.

RETIREES CLUB OF L.U. 1925, MARTIN, TN-Several retirees were recognized for more than 50 years of service at a special reception at the union hall, where each retiree received a certificate and pin. In addition to those in the photo, other 50-year members not in attendance were Robert A. Brown, Billy Fry, Billy Green, Charles A. Green and Joseph Norfolk.
