L.U. 424 (as,ees,em,es,i,mo,o,ptc, rtb, rts, spa&u), EDMONTON, AB, CANADAMuch has been happening in the local this year in conjunction with our 75th Anniversary celebrations. The May 30th Golf Tournament and Steak Barbecue raised over $3,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. The following day for the Family Picnic/Open House, members and their families were treated to a barbecue and invited to tour the recently completed building renovations. That evening, a gala banquet and dance officially marked our 75th Anniversary. Highlight of the evening was the honoring of the 10 business managers who held office since our charter in 1928. Seven of those 10 attended the ceremony. They were led into the waiting assembly by a piper and color guard, followed by past local union presidents. Unit 1 Committee served up stacks of "flapjacks", bacon and scrambled eggs (with perfect weather), for the annual Klondike Days Pancake Breakfast on July 11. Calgary Unit 2 Committee served a similar breakfast on June 27, a week ahead of the world famous Calgary Stampede. Dave Anderson, P.S.
