RETIREES CLUB OF L.U. 134, CHICAGO, ILSummer is overwhere did it go? Time flies when you are having fun. Our club is doing fine, but we could use some new members. Our club offers luncheons, theater and dinner shows, guest speakers, golf outings and our famous corned beef dinner in December. We meet on the second Wednesday of each month. Please join us.

The officers and committee members are Pres. George Menton, Vice Pres. Joe McCormick, Sec. Don Mahoney, Treas. Carl Busch, Executive Board members Jack Mackey, Robert Smedberg, John Cummins and Lou Rodriguez, and Nominating Committee members Hugh OConnell and Irvin Blaszynski.

Our past Pres. John Cummins passed away. John was a man who treated everyone as he wanted to be treated, whether on the job or in our club. His input in our club will be missed, as he will be too.

Congratulations to Irving (the mailman) Blazynski on his 80th birthday, Arthur and Dorothy Kendall on their 54th anniversary, Richard and Lillian Bronars on their 52nd anniversary and Frank and Rae Metallo on their 50th anniversary.

Hope to see you at the next meeting. Stay healthy, enjoy life and God bless America.

RETIREES CLUB OF L.U. 824, TAMPA, FLWe are proud to announce the formation of the IBEW Local 824 Retirees Club. The Club has been a long time in coming, and thanks to a lot of hard work and perseverance the retirees have accomplished a great goal.

After receiving a Charter from the IBEW International Office, the IBEW Local 824 Retired Members Club was officially established on Aug. 24, 2001, and the first meeting was held on April 26, 2002, at the union hall. The second meeting was held May 22, 2002, with the club enrolling approximately 60 new members. A great success!

Our officers are as follows: Pres. Larry Burns, Vice Pres. Robert Benton, Treas. Pat Van Lengen and Rec. Sec. Betty Watson.

The clubs mission is to unite and organize retirees to capitalize on the tremendous political influence that this coalition of senior citizens could have, and to address issues that primarily affect retirees.

We will continue publishing articles for the IBEW Journal to let you know how we are doing and what we are working on.

Our next meeting will be held at the union hall on November 13, and we hope to see you there.

Larry Burns, Pres.
