Welcome to the
2007 Membership Development Conference
October 15-17, 2007
Atlanta, Georgia

More than 1,500 delegates from across the Brotherhood are expected in Atlanta to deepen their skills at one of the most essential activities that any union member can embark upon: organizing.
This year’s conference comes as successful organizing activities continue in Florida – where IBEW market share has increased over 10 percent in two years – and newer initiatives blossom in the Carolinas and Texas and elsewhere. The recently launched Georgia Initiative is based in Atlanta.
Three days of speakers, workshops and general networking will leave delegates invigorated and poised to continue growing the IBEW.
The conference agenda includes:
- Formation of professional and industrial organizing councils
- Expanded construction initiatives
- Growth of construction job classifications
- Enhanced membership development assistance and tools
- Growing use of competitive agreements to increase market share
- New market share methodology
“Even with the significant obstacles facing organized labor, my optimism and expectations for organizing remain high,” said IBEW International President Edwin D. Hill. “The IBEW is the right union, at the right time, for the right reasons.”
