Bargaining Update 25 - July 30, 2009

Negotiations are continuing at the national and local tables.  Health care and job security are still the major issues.  It is taking time to look at all the components associated with health care and to explore solutions rather than passing on the increased cost to the employees.  While we recognize that the majority of the telecommunications industry has employees paying substantial amounts towards their medical benefits we can not accept language that allows the company the ability to diminish the quality of your care and that of retirees.  As information is available it will be posted.  Thank you all for your patience and solidarity.  Continue to work, think and act as union member.
