AT&T Bargaining 2009

Bargaining Update 9 - June 25, 2009

Bargaining continued today with meetings at the National and Local Bargaining tables. The major issue that was discussed today was the Union’s proposal regarding the IBEW Health Care Plan. Our proposal would have controlled the rising health care costs while at the same time retaining a high level of benefits to our members. Late today, AT&T rejected our proposal. The main reason given was that they needed to maintain complete control of the benefits plan. They then proceeded to demand that our members pay thousands of dollars in out of pocket for costs for benefits going forward so AT&T can increase their profits even more. Your Union Bargaining Teams are committed to bringing home a fair contract to all of our hard-working members which will includes retaining a high quality benefit plan.
